Morning! Let’s all thread together through the treacherous path of the final day of the work week joined by some great music!
Happy Halloween guys! I’m sure you’re all getting your costumes ready for tonight! Don’t forget to grab (and give) some candy during the festivities!
For this Music Friday, the weekly post holding the record for most un-original name ever, I’ve chosen the theme from the battle with Good King Moggle Mog XII from Final Fantasy XIV. It isn’t spooky per se but many have found an obvious “The Nightmare Before Christmas” vibe in it, particularly with it’s main number “This is Halloween“. If I didn’t know better I would have believed this theme was composed by Mr. Elfman himself.
The fight itself is very fun! You have to fight a group of renegade Moogles (each representing a job: Warrior, Black Mage, White Mage, Archer, etc) who want to summon their King, even though most of the Moogles think he isn’t a particularly good ruler. There are strict mechanic requirements but overall the fight it great – the music (which has lyrics talking about each of the small Moogles) is just icing on the cake.
Fun fact: for the first FFXIV FanFest (October 2014) there were live performances of the Primal themes, and GKMM was represented with a hilarious number where XIV’s lead translator, Mr. Koji Fox, sang the lyrics and put on a fantastic show!
Have a safe Halloween guys! Don’t eat too much candy so you don’t feel bad in the morning, and enjoy the weekend!
