Hello! Let’s all tread together the treacherous path of the final day of the work week joined by some great music!
Did you guys watch the new Star Wars Episode VII teaser? Oh, boy, that was exci… what? Let me fanboy a bit!
Just kidding! This Friday I picked the flagship track from Valiant Hearts: The Great War. It’s an Ubisoft title that plays sort of like an old school point and click game, and tells the story of a group of people that see their lives changed and linked by the events of World War I. It uses the same Ubi Art framework the recent Rayman games do, but do not be fooled by the hand-drawn-like graphics – the topic is serious.
One of the things I liked the most about the title is how every “level” you are given some historical facts to read about. Information about the real life equivalent of the current location or battle you’re playing in, for example. It is impactful to read that whatever battle I’m playing really happened, and that in real life there were hundreds of thousand who died to this horrible encounters. There’s also a bunch of collectibles with historical facts such as evolution of dog tags, activities soldiers did in their free time, and more.
If you have the chance give it a shot. It’s a good story, that I of course won’t spoil further.
